Privacy policy

Who we are

NeuralTax Technologies Private Limited (“Neural Tax”, “we”) runs the Neural Tax website and app. For personal data you enter into your own planner, we are the data fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”). What we collect

• Account details: your name, email address and a one-way hash of your password.
• What you enter: monthly income, spending, investments and balances; insurance policies; goals; tax-planning figures; your birth year and saving goal if you add them.
• Documents you choose to upload to your vault.
• Technical records: sign-in attempts and an audit log of account and organisation changes, including IP address, kept for security.
• Enquiries you send us through the contact form.

We never ask for bank credentials, card numbers, PAN or Aadhaar, and we don't connect to your bank.

Why we use it

• To provide the planner: scores, the Freedom Number, tax comparisons, goals and reminders.
• To give your employer, if you joined through one, anonymous team figures (see below).
• To keep accounts secure and to respond to your requests.

We don't sell personal data or use it for advertising.

What your employer can see

If your employer invited you, they can see your name and email and that you joined, so they can manage seats. They can see team-level figures (averages and percentages) only when at least five people are included in the figure. They can never see your income, spending, savings, score, goals, tax plan, policies or documents, or whether you personally checked in.

Who else can see it

Our staff can manage accounts and organisations; the product has no screen that shows a person's own finances. We use processors to run the service: a database host, Cloudinary for private document storage and Resend for email. Each processes data only on our instructions.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account, your data is deleted from our database straight away and your documents are removed from storage. Audit log entries remain with your identity removed. Sign-in attempt records are deleted after 24 hours.

Your rights

• Access: download everything we hold about you from Settings.
• Correction: edit any number, goal, policy or profile detail at any time.
• Erasure: delete your account and its data from Settings.
• Grievance: write to privacy@getneuraltax.com; we respond within the time the DPDP Act requires. You may also approach the Data Protection Board of India.
• Nomination: you may nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf by writing to us.

Cookies

We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in and a readable cookie that tells our pages you're signed in. Optional analytics run only if you allow them in the cookie banner.

Security

Passwords are hashed with Argon2id; sessions can be revoked instantly; documents are encrypted before storage and can be opened only by their owner; every access rule is enforced on our servers. See Security for details.

Changes

We'll update this page and the date above when this policy changes, and tell you by email about significant changes.
