- 14.0%
- Total interest
- ₹2,08,089
- Total you'll repay

Lenders usually prefer all EMIs together under 40–50% of take-home pay. Lower is safer.
In the app, “Can I afford this?” also shows how an EMI moves your Freedom Number and when it recovers.
Track it monthlyHow the EMI calculator works
Enter the loan amount, interest rate and tenure to see your EMI and the total interest you'd pay over the loan. It works for home, car, education and personal loans.
Add your take-home pay and current spending to see the part most calculators skip: your savings rate today and with the new EMI, and how big a share of your pay the EMI takes.
Lenders usually prefer all your EMIs together to stay under 40–50% of take-home pay. Lower is safer, because the EMI stays the same even when your month doesn't.
Common questions
How is EMI calculated?
EMI = P × r × (1 + r)^n ÷ ((1 + r)^n − 1), where P is the loan amount, r is the monthly interest rate (the yearly rate ÷ 12) and n is the number of monthly instalments.
How much EMI can I afford?
A common guide is to keep all EMIs under 40% of take-home pay while still saving at least 10–20% of it. The calculator shows both, so you can see the real effect before you sign.
Does a longer tenure save money?
It lowers the EMI but raises the total interest, often by a lot. Prepaying principal early in the loan cuts interest the most, because early EMIs are mostly interest.
